IAAF World Combined Events Challenge 2003 gets underway

MonteThis weekend in Desenzano del Garda (May 10-11) the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge series gets underway for it’s sixth year with the XV1 Multistars 2003 gathering of Decathletes and Heptathletes.

Offering prize money awards of US$30,000 for first place, US$20,000 for second, US$15,000 for third, graduating done to US$5000US for eighth place, the IAAF World Combined Events Challenge 2003 offers the world’s most versatile athletes the chance to reap significant monetary rewards.

The final standings in the Challenge are based on an athlete’s combined total of points achieved from any of the three meetings in the Challenge’s 2003 programme.

Scoring opportunities are available at the following events –

Individual IAAF Permit meetings: Desenzano, Italy (10/11 May); Gotzis, Austria (31 May/1 June); Arles, France (7/8 June); Ratingen, Germany (12/13 July); Talence, France (20/21 September).

Other International Competitions: US Trials, Palo Alto (19-22 June); European Cup Combined Events , several venues (5-6 July); Pan Am Games, Santo Domingo (6-10 August); IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Paris, France (23-31 August); African Games, Abuja, Nigeria (14-18 October).
