CECS Level I National Lecturers' Seminar in Algeria (© IAAF.org)
On the joint initiative of the IAAF and the Algerian Athletics Federation, a Seminar took place in Algiers from 25 to 30 November 2008, involving 24 PE Teachers/Athletics Coaches representing all the provinces of the country.
This course was conducted by Mr. Abdel Malek El-Hebil and Mr. Charles Gozzoli, in the presence of Mr. Jamel Simohamed, President of the IAAF School & Youth Commission.The complete syllabus of the “IAAF School & Youth Programme” – Theory and Practice – was presented to the candidates.
The theoretical sessions were held at the National Sports Institute and the practical sessions took place at the annexe stadium Mohamed Boudiaf. Each participant was given a mission to fulfil back to their province of origin: to develop this Plan within the Clubs but also in the primary and secondary school community.
This Federation’s initiative paves the way for the future development of athletics in Algeria.
