"This was the most important meet of the year and after my gold in Sydney I was hungry for this medal.

"Even before the championships I did not mask my goal of winning the world title. It is for this reason that right now I can not honestly tell you that I am happy. This was the most important competition of the whole season. I was winning all season, and could not step up today when it mattered the most.
"I was hoping to throw around 70 meters, but ALEKNA's first throw really surprised me. It might have limited me a little today."

"It was a long time since I competed. I have had problems with my abs.
"Tonight I did my pb. I wanted to throw well, because the other Belarus throwers have been getting medals. I didn't want to look like a loser."
