Former 3000 metres goldmedallist Mark Carroll has been added to the Irish team for the European Indoor Championships in Madrid from 4 - 6 March.

Carroll, winner of the title five years ago, will race against current world number one at the distance, Alistair Cragg.

Former world youth 100m and 200m sprint champion Emily Maher has been rewarded for her recent return to top form with selection alongside Ailis McSweeney in the 60m.

James Nolan (1500m) and Peter Coghlan (60m Hurdles) will be selected if they can attain the qualifying standards in the next couple of weeks.
