The Italian teams were successful in both men’s and women’s races at the European Mountain Running Champs, the men for 11th time in the 12 years of this event, and the women for the 7th time. Marco Gaiairdo and Anna Pichrtová regained titles they had won in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
