Legendary javelin thrower Jan Zelezny announced that he wants to throw in 2006. It may be his last season, but that is not a definitive decision just yet.

“After the surgery I could not have had a better season. But I won two meets and my worst position was fourth. So my decision is to continue at least one more season.“

“I want to compete at places where during my career the crowds wanted to see me. Obviously the European Championships are also an interesting competition. It will be tough to win it because the young throwers like Tero Pitkamaki and Andreas Thorkildsen are very good. But I have only one bronze so the motivation is there. But all will depend on my health situation. The last competition in Monte Carlo showed that I‘m still capable of decent throws,“ commented Zelezny.
