Ezekiel Kemboi the World 3000m Steeplechase silver medallist says he wants to save a lot of energy this summer by participating in very few races before the Olympics.

He has in mind Doha (Qatar) Super Grand Prix and the Hengelo GP before embarking on preparation for Kenya's national trials that he believes is the biggest barrier for him to join the team to Olympics.

The 22 year-old Kemboi believes winning a medal at the Olympics would be easier than beating several local steeplechasers like Kipkurui Misoi, Paul Kipsiele, Michael Kipyego ,and the reigning Olympic champion Reuben Kosgei at the national level.

The man who beat Kemboi to gold at the World Championships in Paris, Saif Saaeed Shaheen of Qatar is unlikely to feature in the August sports extravaganza due to an IOC requirement on the change of citizenship.

Shaheen changed his citizenship from Kenya to Qatar shortly before the Paris Worlds last year.
