Eliud Kipchoge the inaugural champion will return in the New Year for the EventScotland Great Edinburgh International Cross Country in Holyrood Park, Scotland, UK.

The 22-year-old Kipchoge's appearance in the Scottish capital on 13 January at the IAAF XC permit race will see him line-up against Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele, the five-times double World Cross Country Champion. Kipchoge is the 2003 World Championship 5000m champion and famously took that global track crown just metres ahead of both Hicham El Guerrouj and Bekele in the Stade de France.

Elite athletes director Matthew Turnbull also announced that Zersenay Tadesse, winner of the IAAF World Road Running Championship in October, will also be in the field.
