FacebookTwitterEmail

Tim Lobinger cleared 5.90m in the Pole Vault in Cologne on Saturday (10). In the season’s world list he is now just one centimetre behind Steven Hooker (Australia/5.91) and is the leading European.

After jumping 5.90 m the 33-year-old World Indoor Champion from 2003 tried to break his own national record. But he missed 6.01 m though is reported to have had good attempts at this height. Nine years ago Lobinger had become the first German to clear 6.00m.

Lars Börgeling took second place in Cologne with 5.80 m while Richard Spiegelburg achieved the national qualifying standard for the European Championships in Gothenburg in August as well. He jumped 5.70 m and took fourth place behind Denis Yurchenko (Ukraine/5.70 m).
