Announcing the squad in Blantyre on Tuesday (14), Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association of Malawi (OCGAM) Acting President Floriano Massah, said he was hopeful of good results at the Games to run from March 15 to March 26 in the Australian city.
“For the first time we are taking a big contingent to Commonwealth Games and we hope to bring medals because this is a winning team,” Massah said.
Two of the athletes in the squad - Lucia Chandamale and Chancy Master - are currently benfitting from an Olympic Solidarity Scholarship and are training in Kenya at the IAAF HPTC in Eldoret in Kenya.
The full squad is as follows; Mike Tebulo, Kondwani Chiwina, Lucia Chandamale, Suzan Tengatenga, Chancy Master and coach Isaac Phiri.
