No Gregorio but strong squad of 13 to represent Brazil in Valencia

A 13athleteteam will represent Brazil at the 12th IAAF World Indoor Championships, Valencia, Spain (7 – 9 March).

The team is composed of Vicente de Lima, José Carlos Moreira (60m), Fabiano Peçanha (800m), Anselmo Gomes da Silva, Éder Souza (60m hurdles), Fábio Gomes da Silva (Pole Vault), Rogério Bispo (Long Jump), Lucimar de Moura (60m), Fabiana Murer, Joana Costa (Pole Vault), Maurren Maggi (Long Jump), Keila Costa (Long and Triple Jump) and Tânia Ferreira da Silva (Triple).

During the season, new area records have been set by Vicente de Lima at 60m (6.58 on 22 February in Paris), Fábio da Silva at Pole Vault (5.61 on 16 February at Donetsk, and 21 February at Stockholm) and Maurren Maggi at Long Jump (6.87 on 2 February at Stuttgart).

Two-time World Indoor medallist Jadel Gregório has not competed indoors and will focus his preparation on the outdoor season, concentrating on winning a medal an Olympic medal at Triple Jump, which would be the seventh for Brazil at the event.
