Kenya's Elijha Nyabuti won today's MTN Lagos Half Marathon, beating Tanzania's Martin Sulle, the pre-race favourite.
Nyabuti, 24, who improved his personal best by one second to 61:19 when taking second place at the Merano Half Marathon at the end of April, succeeded his compatriot Paul Kosgei who won last year's inaugural Lagos Half but missed this year's race due to injury.
Tanzania's 20 year-old Hawa Hussein, who was 16th at the 2002 Commonwealth Games 5000m, won the women's Half Marathon.
