Jennifer Oeser, the World bronze medallist in the Heptathlon, and reigning World indoor Shot Put Champion Christian Cantwell have joined the fields for the IHM Karlsruhe meeting at the Europahalle on 12 February.

The IHM Karlsruhe competition is an IAAF Indoor Permit Meeting.

Oeser's bronze in Daegu was her third major international accolade in as many years, following her silver from the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, and her bronze at the 2010 European Championships in Barcelona. The 28-year-old from the northern city of Brunsbüttel has a 6683-point career best in the Heptathlon and 4423 in the Pentathlon indoors from 2009, Oeser will be contesting the 60m Hurdles in Karlsruhe hoping to attack her 8.57 personal best. Organisers have promised her a strong field.

In the men's Shot Put, previously announced David Storl, Germany's surprise World champion, will face a fierce battle with Christian Cantwell, the man he dethroned in Daegu, joining the field.

At 31, Cantwell is 10 years Storl's senior, and with World indoor titles from 2004, 2008 and 2010, along with Olympic silver from 2008, the American is among the most decorated throwers competing in the world today.

Other athletes perviously announced include German High Jump star Ariane Friedrich and pole vaulters Martina Strutz and Silke Spiegelburg.
