New York, USAOlympic and World Championships medallists will provide heated head-to-head competition in the men’s 600 yards, women’s 400m and women’s 1500m at the 104th Millrose Games, set for 28 January at New York's Madison Square Garden, which kicks off the 2011 IAAF Indoor Permit Meeting series.

Two Millrose champions will do battle in the Mel Sheppard Men’s 600 yards, where 2005 World 400m Hurdles champion and 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Bershawn Jackson will take on 2006 World Junior 400m champion and 2009 outdoor World bronze medallist Renny Quow of Trinidad. Jackson is a three-time Millrose champion in the event, with titles won in 2007, ’08 and 2010, while Quow won the race in 2009.

The women’s 400 metres features a competitive trio of Olympic 4x400m gold medallists. Dee Dee Trotter and Moushaumi Robinson took home gold from the Athens Olympics, while Natasha Hastings,  prep star from A. Philip Randolph High School in Harlem and former NCAA champion, was part of the winning U.S. 4x400 team at the 2008 Games in Beijing. All three will toe the line at the Garden.

The women’s 1500m will feature an intriguing match-up between a three-time Millrose bride and a three-time bridesmaid. Canadian record holder and 2004 World Indoor silver medallist Carmen Douma-Hussar won three consecutive Millrose titles, from 2004-2006. Her top competition will likely come from 2006 5th Avenue Mile Champion Sara Hall of the United States, who three times has finished as the Millrose runner-up, including last year.
