A squad of 18 will represent Slovenia in Athens, led by Olympic veteran sprinter Merlene Ottey and European 800 metres champion Jolanda Ceplak.

The 44-year-old Ottey, who will contest both the 100 and 200, will compete in her seventh Olympic Games, a feat unprecedented in athletics competition. Ottey has won individual or relay medals in each Olympic Games since 1980 while representing Jamaica.

Ceplak, the World Indoor 800m record holder, competes in her first Olympic Games, and is among the favourites in the women's 800m.
