Paris 2003 back on the Agenda
15 January 2002 – Monte Carlo, Monaco - Just a few days after cities interested in bidding for the 2005 World Championships in Athletics were briefed at IAAF Headquarters, the subject of Paris 2003 is back on the agenda.

Yesterday, IAAF President Lamine Diack met Jean Dussourd, the former Prefect of France's Pays-de-Calais, who was recently nominated by the French Government as President of the "Groupement d'Interet Public" - the body that will officially be held responsible for the organisation of the World Championships.

"I am honoured to have been nominated to this position, and happy to have had the opportunity to travel to Monaco for a first meeting with Lamine Diack and some members of the IAAF about this great event," said Mr Dussourd.

This Thursday, an IAAF delegation, led by IAAF General Secretary Istvan Gyulai and IAAF General Director Pierre Weiss, will travel to the French capital for a meeting with representatives of the Paris 2003 Organising Committee.
