Both the men's and women's Pole Vault competitions provided the highlights at the Meeting National du Val d’Oise on Friday (02).
Russian Taytana Polnova won the women’s event with a 4.50m from German Carolin Hingst who managed 4.40m. Frenchwoman Vanessa Boslak took third with a 4.30m leap.
The men’s competition went to Frenchman Jerome Clavier who set an indoor personal best with 5.70m, while Ukrainian Ruslan Yeremenko took second and Romain Mesnil third with 5.60m for both.
Reina-Flor Okori remained unbeaten this winter in the 60m Hurdles, clocking 8.17 in heats and 8.11 in final. Her training partner Muriel Hurtis was sidelined with the flu and didn't compete at 60m. Victory over the dash went to Ukrainian Irina Shtangyeyevanova (7.36) while Frenchwoman Fabienne Beret-Martinel was disqualified for false start in final after having set the fastest time in heats (7.34). Emmanuel Ngom Priso (Cameroon) win the men’s race with 6.69.
