Powell the man to beat, says Gay - Samsung Diamond League

Despite Usain Bolt’s world lead equalling blast down the straight in the Samsung Diamond League meeting in Lausanne last night, Asafa Powell remains the man to beat over 100m according to Tyson Gay, the American who split the two Jamaicans in the World championships final in Berlin last summer.

Gay, who faces Powell over 100m at the Aviva British Grand Prix in Gateshead tomorrow, said at a joint press conference with the Jamaican: “I believe right now that Asafa is the guy to beat. Everyone will get my respect, of course, but I will have to run hard to beat Asafa.
