Valerie Adams of New Zealand has completely dominated the international scene in the women´s Shot Put in recent years and earlier this week landed her fourth consecutive World title with a throw of 20.88m.
The double Olympic champion is already in Stockholm as she gets set to compete at the DN Galan of 22 August for the next leg of the 2013 IAAF Diamond League.
“After my victory at the World Championships in Moscow I look forward to coming back to DN Galan and the knowledgeable crowd in Stockholm,” she said.
At last year’s DN Galan meeting, Adams set a stadium record of 20.26m. She will look to improve on that on 22 August as she bids to win another Diamond.
Other newly-minted World champions set to appear in Stockholm include David Oliver in the 110m Hurdles and Abeba Aregawi in the 1500m.
