MonteThe IAAF among its many activities worldwide, has put especial energy into its TV department.

The Broadcast section started officially in 1997 and began recording all the TV coverage of its major events throughout the world. These are made available to Athletics fans, and the range of events grows daily during the summer months.

The IAAF website focuses on all the major meetings including the World Athletic Series; One Day meetings; even combined events and race walking. In 2008, top Road Running events featured star athletes as well as fun runners.

Recently a section of World Record Archives has been opened to allow fans to access historic and exciting moments. Few sports can match the historic archive produced by the IAAF.

In 2005 at the World Championships in Helsinki multilingual daily highlights were made available for the first time. In 2007 this was followed with a podcast section with exclusive on-site interviews with top athletes conducted by the IAAF Radio crew. This section is continually expanded and weekly updated. The online live Radio service is now essential for fans at the World Championships indoor and outdoor.

Plans are now in progress for Daily TV highlights, videos, podcasts and live Radio Shows at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Berlin, August 15-23. This will be the largest TV and Radio event the IAAF has ever produced and fans will be given every chance to enjoy this great Athletics display.

Last but not least the IAAF recognises that the Internet is the best way to reach communities around this fast changing world. Therefore the AUDIO/VIDEO section will deliver a cleaner, professional, attractive and uncluttered look.

Welcome to the IAAF; welcome to Berlin; welcome to the great sport of Athletics.
