The chief coach of Russian team Valeriy Kulichenko expects his team to win  5 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals and be placed as the second team overall after the USA at the 10th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics, Budapest, Hungary (5-7 March).

However, such expectations seem to be a little pessimistic as it is clear that on current form the Russian indoor team have more chances then ever to become the number one in the world.

The President of All-Russia Athletics Federation Valentin Balakhnichev hopes that his athletes did not use all their potential at the nationals championships last week, and that they’ll be ready to achieve even better results than they showed at national championships.

"I think they are still on their way to top form in Budapest," commented Balahknichev, and "I am glad that we are successfully continuing our preparations for the Olympic Games."
