Schwazer and Brugnetti lead Italian squad for Chihuahua - IAAF World Race Walking Cup

Reigning Olympic 50Km Race Walk champion Alex Schwazer and former Olympic champion Ivano Brugnetti head the Italian squad for the IAAF World Race Walking Cup in Chihuahua, Mexico, 15/16 May, FIDAL, the Italian federation announced.

Schwazer, 25, a two-time World bronze medallist over 50Km, will contest the longer event in Chihuahua. Brugnetti, 33, the World 50Km champion in 1999 and Olympic champion in the 20Km in 2004, will compete over the shorter distance.

Giorgio Rubino, who finished fourth in the 20Km at the World Championships last year, has struggled with injury this season, and will not compete.
