Czech Decathlon World record holder Roman Sebrle who has won the overall IAAF Combined Events Challenge title on three occasions (2002, 2004 and 2005) has been at his usual training camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa, since the beginning of the month.

During his one month long stay the Olympic and European Decathlon champion wants to prepare for the coming indoor season. Already in the first weekend of February he is scheduled to compete at Reval Hotel´s Cup in Tallinn, Estonia, the traditional and currently only one international indoor fixture for multieventers.

Sebrle also hopes to successfully defend his European Indoor Heptathlon title this coming March in Birmingham, UK.

Back in his homeland last weekend (13 / 14 Jan), 2006 European Championship Decathlon 14th placer Josef Karas, 28, achieved a solid indoor Heptathlon score of 5633 points, but was unhappy mainly with his Shot Put and Hurdles. He missed his best from last year (5755) by more than 100 points. His results: 7.04-729-13.44-196-8.65-470-2:48.92.
