Senegal sends team of 10 to Olympics

The women’s squad dominates a team of ten athletes selected by Senegal to compete in the Athens Olympics, with seven out of the team of ten athletes named for the track and field competitions being female.

The team is headed by 2001 World champion and 2003 World bronze medallist at the women's 400m, Amy Mbacké Thiam.

The team list is as follows -

Women

400m - Amy Mbacké Thiam and Fatou Binetou Fall
400m Hurdles - Tacko Diouf
Long and Triple Jumps - Kène Ndoye
4x400m - Amy Mbacké Thiam, Fatou Binetou Fall, Tacko Diouf, Aïda Diop, Aminata Diouf + either Aminata Sylla or Ndeye Marième Niang

Men

200m - Oumar Loum
800m - Abdoulaye Wagne
Long Jump -  Ndiss Kaba Badji
