Sergey Bubka’s coach to run Pole Vault clinic in Brazil

Ukrainian Vitaly Petrov who is considered one of the most knowledgeable Pole Vault coaches in the world will lead a Pole Vault clinic in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday 16 October. The event has been organized by the Brazilian Athletics Association (CBAt) and will be attended by the leading Brazilian pole vaulters and jump coaches.

The clinic will be coordinated by former pole vaulter and team coach Elson Miranda de Souza who declared: “Petrov has already come to Brazil a few years ago and we have had the chance to meet again in Europe. His encounter with our youngsters will undoubtedly help improve the level of Pole Vaulting in Brazil.”

Petrov was the long-time coach of World record holder and six-time World champion Sergey Bubka, now a member of the IAAF Council. He currently coaches Giuseppe Gibilisco, reigning World champion and Olympic bronze medallist.

Fabio Gomes da Silva whose personal best is 5.55 and Fabiana Murer, Brazilian record holder at 4.25 will be among the participants of the Sao Paulo clinic.
