Olympic Games – Sydney 2000 Entry Standards
The IAAF Council agreed the entry standards for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, during their recent meeting in Seville, Spain. They are as follows:

- All performances must be achieved during the period 1 January 1999 to 11 September 2000 (midnight-local time)

- Entry Standards for Women’s Pole Vault, Hammer and Javelin will be decided at the end of the 1999 season.

- All performances must be achieved during competitions organised or sanctioned by the IAAF, its Area Associations and its National Member Federations. Thus, results achieved at university or school competitions must be certified by the National Federation of the country in which the competition was organised.

- Performances achieved in mixed events between male and female participants, held completely in the Stadium, will not be accepted. (see IAAF Rule 140.1)

- Wind assisted performances will not be accepted.

- Hand timing performances in 100m, 200m, 400m, 110m/100m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles will not be accepted.

- Indoor performances will be accepted.
