Tegla
Loroupe not running but writing
10 August 2001 - Edmonton - The Kenyan holder of the women's world best in the
Marathon (2:20.43), Kenya's Tegla Loroupe, will not be running the women's
marathon on Sunday, but she is with us in Edmonton and will be there for all
marathon fans on the IAAF web site.
From the start to the finish, Tegla will be commenting the race as it happens in the IAAF Community Forums, giving her impressions on the evolution of the race and the course as the world's marathon elite run through the streets of Edmonton.
Tegla's commentary will start at 8.00 am local time (1500 GMT).
If you have any questions for Tegla, you are invited to post them in the Champions Forum and, time permitting, she will answer them during or immediately after the race.
Tegla's forecast for the moment: "The course is hard and I think that we are likely to see a battle between the Russians, Romanians and Japanese contenders."
Check out the Forums on Sunday.
