Kerala’s Tintu Luka won many hearts in the sizeable crowd which turned out to watch and encourage grass roots athletics in the 51st National School Games in Pune, India.
The four-day meet which concluded here on Wednesday (25 Jan) saw 14 meet records bettered and two equalled by boys and girls under the age-groups of 19, 17 and 14 years. Tintu accounted for two in girls under-17 division while winning the 400 (55.61) and 800 (2:13.85). Her team-mate V.B. Bineesh had won the 200 and 400 in boys U19 category, the quarter mile with a record 47.90.
