Monte-Carlo – The IAAF is pleased to announce that Tuvalu has joined the IAAF, bringing the total membership to a record 213.
In accordance with Article 4.4 of the IAAF Constitution, the IAAF Council has provisionally granted IAAF Membership to the Tuvalu Athletics Association, with full rights and obligations. Tuvalu’s affiliation must be confirmed by a Special Majority at the next IAAF Congress which takes place in Berlin, Germany, in August 2009.
Located in Oceania, Tuvalu is an island group in the South Pacific Ocean, about one-half of the way from Hawaii to Australia. It has been an independent country since 1978.
The three letter code for Tuvalu is TUV.

LES TUVALU DEVIENNENT LA 213ème FEDERATION MEMBRE DE L’IAAF
7 mai 2008 - Monte-Carlo - L’IAAF a le plaisir d’annoncer que les Tuvalu ont rejoint l’IAAF, portant le nombre de Fédérations membre à 213.
Conformément à l’article 4.4 de ses statuts, le Conseil de l’IAAF a provisoirement accordé l’affiliation à l’Association d’Athlétisme des Tuvalu, avec tous les droits et obligations afférents. L’affiliation des Tuvalu devra être ratifiée à la majorité qualifiée lors de la tenue du prochain Congrès de l’IAAF à Berlin, (Allemagne) en août 2009.
Situé en Océanie, l’archipel polynésien de Tuvalu se trouve au sud de l’Océan Pacifique à mi chemin entre Hawaii et l’Australie. C’est un état indépendant depuis 1978. Le code à trois lettres pour Tuvalu est «TUV».
