On the 17 June 2005 at the ‘Utrecht night of the 10,000m’, Dutch woman Lornah Kiplagat will try to qualify for the World Championship, and the organisers hope to attract an impressive line up of opponents.
In last year’s event it was Kenyan Alice Timbilil who won the race in 31:23.99, just ahead of the Ethiopians Eyerusalem Kuma (31:25.46) and Bizumesh Bekele (31:29.07).
There will be a men’s race as well as a women’s race this year for the first time, and fast times are expected.
The usual conditions at this track in June are mostly good, with no wind and a pleasant temperature (around 15 – 20 degrees at the time of running).
