Victory for Paul Kosgei and Leah Malot in Valladolid

21 January 2001 – Kenyans Paul Kosgei and Leah Malot, were the winners of the 14th International Valladolid Cross Country on Sunday.

The 2000 World Cross Country short race bronze medallist Kosgei, easily won the event ahead of the 2000 European Cross runner up Serguey Lebed of Ukraine, and the Portuguese European Cross Champion Paulo Guerra.

In the women’s race, Leah Malot, sixth at last year's World Cross Country Championships in Vilamoura, won her race ahead of Ethiopia’s Merima Demboba and the 1997 World 1500m champion Carla Sacramento of Portugal.
