Suggested lead in for the World Feed from the ÅF Golden League Oslo June 6th 2008

Welcome to Oslo – the Norwegian Capital is located between the Fjord and the forested hills. It has a natural beauty – the envy of Europe – but it also boasts all the facilities of a modern metropolis. It has real charm.Much of the activity here is naturally linked to the beautiful aspects of nature which surround the city. Welcome once again to Golden League Athletics - to the famous Bislett Games and to this superbly refurbished stadium.  (24 sec) The Berlin meeting provided us with two big upsets.  LeShawn Merrit (USA) beat team mate and World number one Jeremy Wariner in a closely contested 400 meters in a fast 44.03 (11 sec) And Josephine Onyia (ESP) beat world Indoor Champion and favourite in the 100m hurdles Suzanna Kallur with a very fast 12.50  (9 sec) There are two outstanding favourites to go all the way.The first is Blanka Vlasic (CRO) who was dominant again in the high jump in Berlin with 2.03m (9 sec) And the second a 19 year old Kenyan Pamela Jelimo who was simply sensational in the Berlin 800m her time 1:54.99. (8 sec)

The above to be followed by view over the Bislett Stadium in Oslo
