Opening of registration for mass race marks one-year countdown for IAAF World Half Marathon Championships Valencia 2018

The starter pistol has sounded for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships Valencia 2018 with the opening of registration to the general public for the mass race.

Runners of all levels will be able to take part in and enjoy this unique event alongside the world’s best middle-distance athletes on 24 March 2018.

The countdown got under way at the City of Arts and Science, the location for the starting and finishing line for this unique event, which will take place in 365 days’ time. The start of the countdown was attended by the city’s vice-mayor Sandra Gómez, the president of the Spanish Athletics Federation Raúl Capado, and Paco Borao, the president of AIMs and SD Correcaminos.

Runners from the general public will have a unique opportunity to run along a new course on this special occasion and under particularly special conditions as it will be held in the afternoon on Saturday 24 March next year in the city that holds the Spanish all-comers’ records for the marathon and half marathon.
