The 2010 CAC Athletes of the Year have been confirmed as Dayron Robles of Cuba and Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica, who respectively are the reigning Olympic 110m Hurdles and 200m champions.
Principally in 2010, Robles (60m Hurs) and Campbell-Brown (60m) extended their impressive championship records by taking World Indoor titles in Doha, Qatar in March.
In the outdoor season Campbell-Brown set world season leading times at 100m (10.78) & 200m (21.98), and remained unbeaten at 200m.
Robles was not so lucky as his outdoor campaign was ended prematurely by injury though his 13.01 sec (0.3m/s) victory in the Samsung Diamond League meeting in Lausanne on 8 July (his last run of 2010) was the second fastest run in the world this year.
