Defending champion Maslak leads Czech team for Portland

The Czech Republic’s three medallists from the 2014 edition in Sopot feature on the national team for the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016.

Pavel Maslak will defend his title in the 400m. The two-time European indoor champion recently won the national indoor 200m title in 20.78, one week after clocking a season’s best of 46.02 in his specialist event.

Pole vaulters Jirina Ptacnikova and Jan Kudlicka, who took silver and bronze respectively in 2014, have also been named on this year’s team.

European indoor champion Jakub Holusa will contest the 1500m in Portland, while Adam Sebastian Helcelet and Katerina Cachova have been invited to participate in the combined events.
