The local organising committee of the IAAF/Cardiff University World Half Marathon Championships Cardiff 2016 has published the official bulletin for the event.

The championships will be held in the British city of Cardiff on 26 March 2016.

“The world half marathon’s combination of elite and mass racing represents a popular model of sustainable and affordable sports entertainment which proved highly successful two years ago in Copenhagen,” said IAAF President Sebastian Coe.

“Next year the population of Cardiff, like that of the Danish capital in 2014, will have a direct link to this unique road race hosted in the heart of their city. There are health benefits for the participants of all ages and abilities and the event will also engage with families and the community at large as volunteers, supporters and spectators.

“Judging by the record field of almost 16,000 runners which took part in the city’s annual half marathon on 4 October, next year’s IAAF/Cardiff University World Half Marathon Championships will be a spectacular event.”
