The IAAF Diamond League debut by hometown hero Andreas Thorkildsen, another 100m exhibition by red-hot Asafa Powell and an eagerly anticipated face-off between the top guns of the 800m “next generation” are but a few of the expected highlights as the sport’s big meet series continues with the Exxon Mobil Bislett Games in Oslo on Friday evening.

The Diamond Race resumes in seven men’s events – the 100m, 800m, 1500/Mile, 5000m, 400m Hurdles, Pole Vault and Shot Put – and six women’s – the 200m, 400m, 3000m Steeplechase, 100m Hurdles, High Jump, and Discus Throw. Meanwhile, the Diamond quest begins in the women’s Long Jump and in one of Bislett’s marquee events, the men’s Javelin Throw.
