The women of the USA won the 4x400m relay for the seventh consecutive World Junior Championships with a clocking of 3:30.42.
Shamier Little, the 400m hurdles champion, took the first leg and got to the handoff first. Olivia Baker on the second leg got to the break first, and that was mostly the end of the show.
The third leg, Shakima Wimbley, got the baton comfortably into the hands of 400m champion Kendall Baisden. Baisden ran well within herself, and was easily able to hold off a challenge from Great Britain anchor Cheriece Hylton to seal the victory.
Great Britain took silver, Hylton joined by Shona Richards, Loren Bleaken, and Sabrina Bakare, to set up a 3:32.00, the second-fastest British junior performance ever.
Bronze went to Germany’s Laura Muller, Hannah Mergenthaler, Laura Glasner, and Ann-Kathrin Kopf, who battled most of the way with Great Britain to finish in 3:33.02.
