After crisscrossing the globe for the past several months, World and Olympic Shot Put champion Valerie Adams is now eagerly awaiting the year's main destination – Berlin.

"Hey All!

"This month I have done a bit of travelling! My support crew and I have made the trip halfway around the world from New Zealand, and we are now settled into our training base just outside Strasbourg in the region of Colmar, France.  It’s a nice little town and the people are really great.  We haven’t done any sightseeing, but we loved seeing the countryside as we took the train here.

"I competed at the French Nationals in Angers and it went well (I threw 20.18m to win). It was also great that my husband Bertrand won the men’s Discus title (61.14m) and also made the French team for the World Champs so that was exciting for us both!

"I have been training hard and counting down to World Champs. The time has flown by but now I am excited to compete there.

"That’s about it from me, time to take a nap before my next training session.

"Til next time,

Val
