Girls Shot Put Final

FacebookTwitterEmail

It is often said that 'only the best is good enough' and Aliona Hryshko of Belarus can testify to this claim after her Girls Shot Put glory on Saturday afternoon.

And just like many other throughout the Championships, Hryshko's personal best effort of 15.91 metres was done on her final of six throws.

She did, however, maintained a very good standard throughout the rounds, as apart from overstepping on her second attempt, she recorded 15.06m, 15.65m, 15.32m, and 15.62m.

No other thrower in the final, apart from second place finisher Samira Burkhardt from Germany, who did 15.36m, was able to throw over 15 metres.

However, like the winner, third place finisher Sophia Kleeberg of Germany (14.94m), United States' Rebecca O'Brien (14.94m) and Russian Ekaterina Zyuganova (14.62m) achieved personal best distances.
