Another handful of top sprinters has been announced for the Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe on 6 February, the curtain-raiser to the IAAF World Indoor Tour.

Kim Collins and Mike Rodgers will clash in the 60m in what will be their third encounter in Karlsruhe. When they first faced each other in the German city eight years ago, USA’s Rodgers gained a marginal victory in a photofinish with both athletes clocking 6.60.

They met again in Karlsruhe in 2011 with Collins getting the verdict on that occasion as Rodgers was disqualified for a false start.

Collins, the 2003 world 100m champion, went undefeated over 60m last year and clocked a world-leading national record of 6.47. Rodgers’ PB, albeit set at altitude, is just 0.01 slower.

European indoor finalist Lukas Jakubczyk leads the German challenge. He has a 60m PB of 6.56.

There will also be an exciting duel in the women’s 60m. British record-holder Dina Asher-Smith will take on world 200m champion Dafne Schippers, whose participation in Karlsruhe had been previously announced.

The pair lined up against each other in Karlsruhe last year, but Schippers was disqualified for a false start. Asher-Smith, who was still a teenager at the time, won in 7.12.
