The United States of America produced a World leading mark in the men's sprint relay to secure an impressive victory on today's penultimate day of the 12th IAAF World Junior Championships.
The quartet of Dante Sales, Antonio Sales, Marquise Goodwin and 100m bronze medallist Terrell Wilks, in running order, stopped the clock in 38.98 seconds.
United States, who trailed Jamaica up to the third hand-over, stole the show on the final leg with Wilks.
Wilks, despite under pressure from Jamaican Yohan Blake, never looked bother as he took his team to a World Leading time.
Jamaica, who led off with Oshane Bailey, World Youth 100m champion Dexter Lee, 200m silver medalist Nickel Ashmeade and Blake, finished second in a season best 39.25.
Wilks said they saw victory from the start. "I saw the race right up to my mark," he said.
"The feeling you get when you cross the line in first place with the baton in your is incredible," he added.
Bailey, who led off for Jamaica said: "I'm happy that we won silver."
South Africa took bronze in 39.70 while Japan finished fourth in a season best 39.89.
