Britain's World marathon champion Paula Radcliffe will compete in her first Dutch road running event at the Seven Hills Race in Nijmegen on 20 November.

Radcliffe has not competed since her marathon victory in Helsinki but will make her return in this Sunday's Nike Run London 10-kilometre race in London's Hyde Park.

The announcement of her entry for Nijmegen was made today, with race organisers succeeding after three years of trying to sign up Radcliffe.

"We are aware of the fact that a star athlete like Paula receives numerous offers from all over the world," said race director Henk Stevens.

Gary Lough, Radcliffe's husband and agent, added: "We know that Felix Limo set the 15km World record at the event and that athletes usually run very fast in Nijmegen. It is (also) a quality event for female athletes."

The list of the previous women's race winners runs like a 'who's who' of world-class long distance running and includes Ingrid Kristiansen, Tegla Loroupe, Berhane Adere, Liz McColgan and Catherina McKiernan.
