Women Heptahlon Event 1 100 metres hurdles

The second heat was overall the faster of the two, with the defending World Junior Champion Carolina Kluft of Sweden, who also won a senior European bronze in Vienna this spring, kicking off her title defence with a personal best 13.53 worth 1046 points.

Following Kluft across the line was Diana Pickler (USA) with 13.97 (983 points). Amandine Constantin of France and Olga Levenkova of Russia both ran 14.08 seconds for 967 points.

Heat 1 was won by Jamaica’s Nadina Marsh with a creditable time of 14.04 (973) points, ahead of Julie Picker of the USA with 14.11 for 963 points and Celine Laporte of France with 14.24 for 945 points.
