Monte CarloIAAF Vice President Dapeng Lou (CHN), IAAF Television Commission Chairman Alex Gilady (ISR) and IAAF General Secretary Pierre Weiss (FRA) were in Frankfurt, Germany, on 6 March 2007 for the IAAF World Athletics Tour’ Broadcasting Athletics Production Workshop.
In attendance were the meeting organizers and host broadcaster representatives of the World Athletics Tour meetings in Belem (BRA), Dakar (SEN), Hengelo (NED), Lausanne (SUI), London (GBR), Monaco (MON), Ostrava (CZE), Rieti (ITA), Sheffield (GBR), Stockholm (SWE) and the IAAF World Athletics Final, Stuttgart 2006-2008.
In a message to the Workshop, IAAF President Lamine Diack stressed the need to develop a similar broadcasting philosophy and approach to TV coverage and production. He also said that the IAAF was committed to supporting the meetings in promotion of the IAAF World Athletics Tour and athletics in general.
