Collio and Di Martino main Italian hopes in Valencia

    • Simone Collio wins the 60m Italian indoor title

    Thirteen Italian athletes have been capped by the Technical Director of the Italian Athletics Federation Nicola Silvaggi for the 12th edition of the IAAF World Championships in Valencia.

    The major hopes are carried by fresh Italian 60 metres record holder Simone Collio (6.55 in Valencia) and by last year’s world High Jump silver medallist Antonietta Di Martino (national outdoor record holder with 2.03m).

    Also in the small team are three reigning European indoor championships medallists from last year: Cosimo Caliandro (gold in the men’s 3000 metres), Assunta Legnante (gold in the women’s shot put) and Silvia Weissteiner (bronze in the women’s 3000 metres).
