IAAF NATIONAL MEMBER FEDERATIONS
An IAAF national member federation is a national governing body for athletics (track & field) affiliated to the IAAF.
Only one member from each country or territory may be affiliated to the IAAF and must abide by the rules and regulations of the IAAF.
The number of affiliated federations has grown dramatically from the 17 founding members in 1912.
The total number of countries and territories currently affiliated to the IAAF stands at 214, which places the IAAF among the world’s largest sporting organisations, and with more members than the United Nations.
